Job Summary:

Community Health Center, Inc. is seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team in New Britain, Connecticut. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering primary dental care to our patients.

Responsibilities include preparing equipment and the workplace for use, supporting the dentist in delivering care, and contributing to a supportive atmosphere for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepares office and treatment areas each day.
* Performs pre/post treatment set-up/clean-up procedures for each patient in accordance with all Agency protocols.
* Prepares patients for dental procedures.
* Assists the dentist at chairside, using 4-handed techniques.
* Exhibits knowledge of instruments and techniques utilized for all procedures.
* Performs independent patient services, as directed, including patient triage, radiographs, impressions, suture removal, temporary fillings, recement crowns, laboratory work.
* Maintains dental facility, treatment areas, equipment, and instruments in proper working order.
* Maintains adequate inventory of dental supplies.
* Follows safety and infection control standards at all times, including appropriate use of PPE.
* Takes quality radiographs, as prescribed. Processes, mounts, and labels properly.

Requirements:

* High School Diploma (or equivalent)
* Graduate of an accredited Dental Assisting School or two years of dental experience in general dentistry.
* Certified in Dental Radiology and Infection Control by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB)
* Commitment to preventive dental care
* Knowledge/interest in providing care to a diverse patient population
* Written and oral bilingual fluency in the language spoken by our patient population (e.g., English/Spanish or English/Polish) is strongly preferred.
