Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pool Deck Supervisor to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Omaha. As a key member of our aquatic team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our members and guests while providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall supervision of the pool area, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all users.
  • Build relationships with members, program participants, volunteers, and staff to gain and retain members.
  • Relate to the public in a positive manner, addressing member concerns and interacting with participants as needed.
  • Maintain active surveillance of the pool area, responding promptly to emergency situations.
  • Enforce all pool rules and regulations, notifying the appropriate staff member of any inappropriate behavior.
  • Assist with the general maintenance and upkeep of the aquatics facility, including chemical testing and taking appropriate action.
  • Actively participate in department and branch staff meetings and/or related trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness.
  • Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail required.
  • Complete before first shift: YMCA cause & culture training; Aquatics-specific training; Child Abuse Prevention Training.
  • Demonstrated leadership, dependability & flexibility in work hours.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check.
