Position Overview
The University of Utah is seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our esteemed Department of Emergency Medicine. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients across various emergency department settings.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive physical assessments and gathering detailed medical histories of patients.
- Developing and implementing medical plans based on thorough evaluations of patient conditions.
- Collaborating with physicians to ensure optimal healthcare strategies and treatment plans.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests to accurately identify patient health issues.
- Performing essential emergency procedures within the scope of practice.
- Prescribing appropriate medications and therapeutic interventions in line with established protocols.
- Maintaining meticulous documentation of patient interactions and care in compliance with medical record policies.
- Engaging in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care standards.
- Providing counseling and education to patients and their families regarding health maintenance and illness management.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A valid Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Utah.
- Preferred certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, or ATLS.
- At least two years of experience in an emergency department setting as a Nurse Practitioner.
Work Environment
