The Senior Pharmacy Program Strategist plays a crucial role in advancing and executing the initiatives that align with PacificSource's Clinical Pharmacy objectives and management priorities. This position collaborates closely with the Vice President of Pharmacy Services to implement enterprise-wide cost management strategies, strategic planning, and quality improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include analyzing performance metrics, enhancing operational capabilities, and optimizing processes within pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and execute clinical program strategies that align with the organization's objectives.
  • Conduct thorough market and competitive assessments to uncover opportunities for new clinical initiatives.
  • Develop strategic plans detailing program goals, objectives, and performance metrics.
  • Design, implement, and oversee clinical programs that cater to patient care needs and enhance clinical outcomes.
  • Ensure all programs adhere to regulatory standards and quality benchmarks.
  • Monitor and assess program performance, making informed adjustments as necessary.
  • Engage with healthcare providers, payers, regulatory agencies, and other essential stakeholders.
  • Facilitate collaborative workgroups and committees to gather insights and drive program development.
  • Present program strategies and results to senior leadership and stakeholders for support and endorsement.
  • Leverage data analytics to guide clinical program development and evaluate performance.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor program metrics and outcomes.
  • Conduct evaluations to measure the effectiveness of clinical programs.
  • Provide structured project management for clinical initiatives, ensuring timely and within-scope execution.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve program objectives.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at quality improvement to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Implement evidence-based practices and protocols within clinical programs.
  • Track and analyze quality metrics to identify and address improvement areas.
Supporting Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Clinical Pharmacy leadership to enhance processes, systems, reporting, and services.
  • Assist in providing data for DUR reports, including FWA data and formulary evaluations.
  • Support P&T manual tasks, including UM/formatting.
  • Represent the Pharmacy Services Department in various capacities as needed.
  • Meet departmental and organizational performance expectations.
  • Adhere to PacificSource's privacy policy and HIPAA regulations regarding the confidentiality of protected health information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
SUCCESS PROFILE

Work Experience: A minimum of five years in clinical program management or a similar role within a managed care organization, with proven success in healthcare integration, process development, and program implementation. Experience managing complex workflows is highly desirable.

Education, Certificates, Licenses: A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in public health, mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related research field. A post-graduate degree in a relevant field is preferred.

Knowledge: Strong leadership abilities, multitasking skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. Adaptability and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail is essential. Familiarity with healthcare regulations, clinical performance metrics, and quality improvement methodologies. Ability to evaluate pharmaceutical technologies and innovative approaches to pharmacy service delivery. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
