Position Title: Rehabilitation Therapist

Position Summary:

As a Rehabilitation Therapist, you will deliver effective rehabilitation services to patients in a dynamic healthcare environment. Your role will involve accurately evaluating and identifying limitations in a patient's capacity to perform daily living activities (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) due to physical, cognitive, or psychological challenges.

You will create personalized treatment plans with patient-focused objectives that will be achieved through therapeutic interventions and the application of ADLs. This may involve adapting or modifying the environment or items within it to enhance patient engagement and participation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, treatment planning, and discharge processes while collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
  • Timely document patient care and billing information in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and other professionals, including physicians and nursing staff, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Act as a collaborative team member in patient care and provide mentorship to junior staff.
  • Meet clinical productivity benchmarks.
  • Maintain clinical expertise through continuous education and training.
  • Engage in in-service training, staff meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and program development activities.
  • Stay vigilant regarding patient safety issues within the clinic and in the use of medical equipment, assisting in the upkeep of patient care devices as necessary.
  • Participate in educational programs for students.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program
  • Registered occupational therapist in Texas (temporary license accepted)
  • CPR certification
  • Membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association
