Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Denver Health. As a Correctional Care LPN, you will provide direct patient care in a correctional setting, working under the supervision of an RN or Care Provider. Your primary responsibilities will include assessing patient physical and psychological conditions, documenting patient medical status, and implementing care based on prioritized patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement care based on prioritized patient needs, under the direction of the RN or Care Provider.
  • Assess patient physical and psychological conditions on an ongoing basis.
  • Document patient medical status throughout the patient's course of care.
  • Provide safe delivery of medications and collect laboratory specimens as ordered by the care provider.
  • Perform specialized tasks as directed by the RN or care provider, such as EKGs, Foley insertion, and spirometry.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a nursing education program that satisfies the licensing requirements of the Colorado State Board of Nursing for Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Less than 1 year of Correctional Care experience preferred.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association required.
  • LPN-Licensed Practical Nurse - LPC State Licensing Board required.
