Job Title: Staff Nurse II - Labor & Delivery

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor and Delivery team in San Jose, California.

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced Labor and Delivery environment. As a Staff Nurse II, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and achieve desired outcomes
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record
Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure in California
  • One year of recent experience in Labor and Delivery or completion of a KP Labor & Delivery Training Program within the past 12 months
  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program and completion of the current hours required by the BRN of RN student clinical experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Successful completion of a Fetal Monitoring Interpretation Competency within the first three months of hire
  • Ability to cross-train to at least one other Maternal Child Health/Family Centered Care area with appropriate certifications
