We are seeking a highly skilled Machinist to join our team at Lovejoy Curtis LLC. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for machining parts related to gear and power transmission manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities- Identify opportunities for process improvements in programming, manufacturing methods, tooling, and fixturing.
- Read and understand G code to ensure accurate machining.
- Assist and support operators with machine setup and operation.
- Collaborate with other facility teams to facilitate production processes.
- Assist with inspection and validation using basic inspection equipment.
- Develop knowledge of work holding and tooling processes.
- Ensure documentation is in accordance with quality management system procedures.
- Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience in a shop environment turning/milling carbon steels and aluminum.
- Strong knowledge of tooling, inspection, and fixturing of low-quantity precision parts.
- Ability to establish machining feeds/speeds/depth of cuts required to maximize production.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to apply common sense understanding.
- Mathematical skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints, 3D models, and knowledgeable in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Practice and emphasize values and a culture that place the highest standards on workplace safety, housekeeping, and quality of workmanship.
- Develop relationships with peer groups that foster teamwork and unity of purpose.
- Ability to walk, stand, climb, lift up to 50 pounds, see, hear, and use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- US citizen or a legally authorized foreign worker to work in an ITAR environment.
- Read and speak English fluently.
- High school degree or equivalent.
