Key Responsibilities

The Plate Mount Technician is responsible for accurately mounting printing plates based on specified production orders. This role requires attention to detail and effective time management to maintain production quality. Responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to all safety regulations and ensuring compliance among team members.
  • Demonstrating commitment to ISO standards and food safety practices.
  • Following production schedules and mounting guidelines.
  • Reading measurements accurately using a tape measure.
  • Working independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Understanding print layouts and specifications.
  • Maintaining an organized inventory of plates.
  • Correctly setting up unwinds and cylinders.
  • Applying sticky back materials without air bubbles.
  • Trimming and marking plates prior to mounting.
  • Mounting plates on cylinders in accordance with proofs and alignment specifications.
  • Reviewing proofs and plates for typographical and compositional accuracy.
  • Measuring sticky back thickness to ensure compliance with tolerances.
  • Possessing skills in plate making and providing assistance as needed.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions and correspondence.
  • Willingness to work a 12-hour overnight shift on a rotating schedule.
  • Mechanical aptitude is essential.
  • Proficiency in basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to accurately interpret measurements using a tape measure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Effective time management capabilities.
