About the Position:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pitching Coach to join our team. As a key member of our baseball staff, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing teaching, coaching, and technical expertise to student-athletes to allow them to compete at their highest competitive potential.

The Pitching Coach will assist the Head Coach in all aspects of a highly competitive Division I program, including teaching and coaching, department, university, conference, and NCAA compliance, and fundraising. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a related field, experience organizing, developing, and executing recruitment plans, and a working knowledge of NCAA and Conference (A10) rules and regulations.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students. They will also be able to travel and work weekends and holidays, and possess a valid Driver's License or the ability to obtain one prior to the start date.

Responsibilities:

Teach and coach student-athletes to compete at their highest competitive potential
Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the program
Oversee strength and conditioning development of the athletes
Assist the Head Coach in evaluation of the student-athletes
Coach pitchers in their development and manage their weight training
Be aware and maintain a safe and healthy environment for the student-athletes

Requirements:

Master's degree in a related field
Experience organizing, developing, and executing recruitment plans
Collegiate baseball pitching coaching experience or equivalent playing and skills instruction experience
Working knowledge of NCAA and Conference (A10) rules and regulations
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students
Ability to travel and work weekends and holidays
CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain
Valid Driver's License or the ability to obtain one prior to the start date
