Position Overview:

The Patient Care Coordinator serves as the initial contact for patients, addressing their inquiries and providing necessary support through phone communication. This role is pivotal in scheduling appointments while employing outstanding customer service skills to accurately assess patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently schedules patient appointments via phone, adhering to established medical practice protocols.
  • Maintains an organized scheduling system to ensure all records are precise and comprehensive, facilitating effective patient access.
  • Collects referrals, authorizations, and demographic data from patients, ensuring verification of insurance details to optimize reimbursement processes.
  • Communicates effectively with supervisors regarding any patient-related concerns or scheduling issues, determining when to escalate matters to clinical staff.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to support operational efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred Education: Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Experience: Basic computer skills with a typing speed of at least 35 words per minute; one year of experience in a medical or call center environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while engaging in repetitive tasks.
  • Occasional need to walk and perform twisting motions.
  • Consistent use of hands for data entry and communication.

Work Environment:
This position is primarily sedentary, requiring minimal physical exertion, and involves frequent interaction with patients and staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
