Molecular Technologist Lead Trainer

We are seeking a highly skilled Molecular Technologist Lead Trainer to join our team at Tempus. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for maintaining competency in molecular biology protocols and training team members to ensure the highest level of quality and accuracy in our clinical testing.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain competency to perform all assigned molecular biology protocols in accordance with CAP, CLIA, and NYSDOH regulations.
  • Work closely with the Training Supervisor to schedule and execute training sessions with molecular team members.
  • Routinely update checklists with training status and tailor training plans to individual team members.
  • Request competency modules in MediaLab and ensure completion and submissions per defined timelines.
  • Review and update training materials as needed.
Requirements:
  • One of the following educational requirements: MS in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical, or biological science with 1 year of pertinent clinical laboratory experience in molecular biology, or BS in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical, or biological science with 3 years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience in molecular biology.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with others to plan and carry out scientific programs.
  • Self-driven and works well in an interdisciplinary team with minimal direction.
  • Strong desire to build products that will save lives and change the course of cancer.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing.
  • Work in a CLIA/CAP high-complexity laboratory.
  • Experience with robotics and automated liquid handling systems.
  • Knowledge of LIMS platforms and various computer systems.
