Alfred University seeks experienced art instructors to teach in the Foundations Program. As a faculty member, you will play a vital role in shaping the first-year experience of students at the School of Art and Design.

The successful candidate will have a graduate degree in art or design and be committed to building an inclusive creative community. They should have a holistic understanding of the first-year experience and the needs of first-year students, as well as skills in collaborative work, clear communication, and framing abstract concepts in language accessible to students.

We are looking for candidates who can approach practice, teaching, and teamwork with curiosity and bring their expertise to a diverse team to collaborate on building experiences that align with the curriculum's objectives and mission. The ideal candidate will be comfortable discussing a wide range of art and design work with students and have knowledge about and ability to articulate contemporary art and design practice and history.

A competitive salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement plan, and tuition remission for employees and their families.
