The College of DuPage is seeking a highly qualified Academic Support Specialist to provide instructional assistance to students in the Writing, Reading, and Speech areas. This is a part-time position that requires a strong commitment to student success and a passion for teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-on-one and group instruction to students in writing, reading, and speech skills
- Develop and lead workshops on various topics related to writing, reading, and speech
- Consult with faculty and staff to develop and implement effective instructional strategies
- Assist with program development and evaluation
- Facilitate conversation circles for non-native students
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience teaching or providing academic assistance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in spoken English
- Master's degree in TESOL or Applied Linguistics
- ESL endorsement
- Part-time position, approximately 4-20 hours per week during academic terms
- Some evening or weekend hours may be required
- Some hours may be in off-campus locations
Pay Grade: CAT3 $25.75
