Empower Students to Succeed in Math

As a Math Corps Tutor, you will play a vital role in helping students in grades 4-8 build their math skills and confidence. Our program is designed to provide a supportive and engaging learning environment, where you will work one-on-one with students to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students in math, focusing on building foundational skills and confidence.
  • Track student progress and meet regularly with the on-site coach to discuss student needs and progress.
  • Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software to monitor progress.
  • Participate in coaching, training, and professional development to enhance your skills as a tutor.
  • Represent Math Corps at school events and share your experience with the community to raise awareness about the importance of math education.
Requirements:
  • Be a caring and supportive adult who is passionate about helping students succeed.
  • Have a history of good attendance and be dependable.
  • Be able to understand and follow instructions, and be open to feedback and improvement.
  • Be able to set a pace and maintain a schedule with students.
  • Have basic computer skills, including email and online navigation.
  • Be fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
  • Be able to successfully complete a background check.
