Position Overview: In the dynamic environment of agriculture, maintaining safety is crucial. As a Permanent Safety Operations Leader, you will play a vital role in fostering a secure and healthy workplace for our staff. Your responsibilities will include training personnel on safe practices, developing a safe work environment, and advising the Operations and Farm teams on safety compliance. You will ensure adherence to the Company's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and other Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies. This position demands a strong dedication to safety, strategic planning capabilities, and effective change management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and execute an annual safety action plan
  • Draft and update safety policies, ensuring proper distribution
  • Design and deliver ongoing safety training for employees and contractors
  • Train management on safety protocols and hold them accountable
  • Create Tailgate Training materials based on injury trends
  • Ensure compliance with safety practices among contractors
  • Maintain and revise Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Oversee the site Safety Training Plan
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the workplace
  • Document and monitor safety training sessions
  • Schedule safety certification trainings
  • Investigate accidents and injuries in collaboration with HR
  • Become certified in designated training programs
  • Organize and maintain safety documentation
  • Track logs and documentation for permits and regulations
  • Perform comprehensive on-site safety assessments
  • Develop and manage an effective Safety Incentive Program
  • Conduct job hazard analyses
  • Provide annual refresher training
  • Execute additional duties as required to enhance operations
Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar capacity
  • Demonstrated experience in safety policy development and implementation
  • Strong leadership and management abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in training employees on safety practices
  • Knowledgeable about regulatory requirements and EHS policies
  • Adept at conducting safety inspections and assessments
  • Experience with accident and injury investigations
  • Certification as a trainer in relevant areas is advantageous
  • Proven track record of maintaining safety documentation
  • Experience in creating and managing Safety Incentive Programs
  • Ability to conduct job hazard analyses and annual refresher training
  • Willingness to perform additional duties to support overall operations
