Position Overview

The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing production activities to ensure that operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This position involves managing production timelines and assigning daily tasks based on operational demands and individual capabilities. A hands-on approach is essential, as this role requires direct involvement in product and process support on the shop floor. The supervisor will champion safety, quality, delivery, and team morale while being accountable for the continuous enhancement of the assigned department and the development of team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all tasks are executed safely and efficiently, adhering to company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to team members to meet operational goals and produce high-quality products.
  • Mentor junior supervisors, offering feedback and strategies to enhance communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organize and allocate workforce according to production requirements.
  • Evaluate equipment capacity and material availability to optimize manufacturing output.
  • Assess employee skills to align them with the needs of various production areas.
  • Monitor and analyze production metrics, labor efficiency, and quality indicators for assigned cost centers.
  • Drive improvements in operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality, to ensure production targets are met.
  • Participate in regular management meetings to discuss production outcomes and areas for improvement.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned, including adherence to the Environmental Management System (EMS) policies.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and labor laws.
  • Skills in conflict resolution and time management.
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications and technology relevant to manufacturing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team framework.
  • Capacity to provide direction and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to support operations across various shifts as needed.
  • Proven ability to achieve business results independently and through team efforts.
