PRIMARY ROLE
The School Age Program Counselor/Driver plays a crucial role in our School Age Child Care (SACC) initiative, serving as a positive influence and ensuring a safe, supportive environment for children. This position involves supervising activities on-site and safely transporting children to and from PCC Center. Counselors/Drivers will prepare for daily activities, drive children in a designated vehicle, and facilitate engaging educational and recreational experiences. They are instrumental in fostering strong relationships and creating memorable experiences for both campers and staff.


REPORTING STRUCTURE
Working under the guidance of the SACC Program Manager, the Counselor/Drivers are accountable for the well-being and supervision of the children in their care. They represent the SACC program to families and the broader community.


WORK SCHEDULE

  • Monday to Friday, typically from 1 PM to 6 PM
  • Average of 4 hours per day, with potential for extended hours on select days

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely transport children from schools to PCC Center, ensuring a joyful and calm experience.
  • Lead and supervise camper groups during daily activities, fostering social and emotional development.
  • Design and implement engaging group experiences, including songs and traditions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, preparing spaces for subsequent activities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, capable of operating a passenger van.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of background checks and certifications prior to employment.
  • Ability to engage actively with children and manage physical demands of the role.
  • Preferred: Coursework in Early Childhood Education or related fields, and experience in child-focused environments.
