Job Summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a Patient Access Representative, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth registration process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration and Scheduling: Verify patient information, obtain demographic and insurance data, and accurately enter information into our computer system.
  • Customer Service: Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner, providing assistance with scheduling and registration.
  • Financial Communication: Handle financial communication with patients in a positive and professional manner, ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Maintain appointment scheduling systems, including scheduling, coordinating, and adjusting patient appointments as needed.
  • Telephone and Messaging: Answer telephone calls promptly, screen calls, and take complete messages, including necessary triage information.
  • Payment and Balancing: Collect patient co-pay and outstanding account balances, and prepare office batches and balance patient payments.
  • Liaison and Communication: Serve as a liaison between patients and medical support staff, communicating with insurance companies and assisting with scheduling specialist appointments and testing.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Graduate
  • Experience: Previous related experience preferred
Work Environment

This is a full-time position in an urgent care clinic with varying scheduling requirements, including 7am - 7pm, Monday - Sunday.
