The Senior Staff Physical Therapist provides direct and indirect patient care services, working primarily with adult and geriatric patients from diverse backgrounds. This role requires a solid knowledge base in various diagnoses, including general medicine, orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary. The Senior Therapist will independently perform complex patient evaluations and therapeutic interventions, serving as a mentor to staff and consultant to other medical professionals.
Responsibilities- Perform complex patient evaluations and therapeutic interventions
- Serve as a mentor to staff and consultant to other medical professionals
- Make recommendations in patient care procedures, protocols, or programs
- Instruct therapists and other medical professionals in discipline-specific skills
- Minimum of 3 years of general patient care experience
- Minimum of 40 hours of professional development activities
- Prior experience as a clinical preceptor and prior experience teaching to a wide variety of audiences
- Ability to work a minimum of 32 hours and 4 days per week
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Prior professional clinical experience in an academic medical center environment
- Prior experience working on an interdisciplinary health provider team
- Possession of an advanced degree or certificate in Physical Therapy from an accredited professional educational program
