Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide sales assistance to customers on orders and returns, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of issues.
  • Operate forklift to load and unload trucks and rail cars, maintaining a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Assist truck drivers in loading and unloading merchandise, ensuring proper handling and storage of inventory.
  • Unload incoming freight, verify counts, and complete necessary reports.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner, observing safe procedures and reporting any unsafe working conditions.
  • Load and handle customer orders, maintaining knowledge of proper inventory identification and location.
  • Assist supervisor, other associates, and work areas as assigned by location management.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma (GED) or equivalent.
  • Trained and functional in operating forklift with hand and foot controls.
  • Ability to do basic math, read instructions, and complete forms.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.
  • Ability to lift up to and including 100 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the building materials industry.
