We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Northwestern Medicine's Special Care Nursery. This is a casual rotating shift position that requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
As a CRT RN in this unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill newborns and their families. You will assess patients, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions to achieve optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments on assigned patients, documenting findings and developing individualized care plans.
- Support patient and family needs by identifying learning levels and readiness, and documenting education records.
- Communicate changes in patient condition promptly and collaborate with healthcare team members to plan care.
- Implement nursing interventions consistent with established care plans and evaluate patient responses, making necessary adjustments.
- Oversee and direct the work of patient care or support techs, maintaining accountability for assigned patients.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and leadership abilities when working with staff and patients.
Requirements
- Registered Nursing license issued by the state of Illinois.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- BLS through American Heart Association.
- Minimum two years of related RN experience for critical care or specialty units (e.g., ED, ICU, SCN).
Estimated Salary Range: $93,000 - $125,000 per year.
