Job Summary:

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is seeking a Per Diem Residential Assistant to join our team at the St. Lucy's Emergency Homeless Shelter in Jersey City, NJ. As a Per Diem Residential Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and stability of homeless men and women.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out designated services in the shelter, including monitoring resident activity and ensuring program policies and safety parameters are maintained.
  • Provide residents with supplies as needed and answer telephone calls in a professional manner.
  • Supervise and secure all building areas, and respond to crisis situations in a manner that safeguards all participants.
  • Accurately complete all required program documentation, including program logs, statistics tracking sheets, incident reports, and work orders.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED and 1-2 years of related experience, or 3 years of experience working with the homeless population in lieu of a HS diploma or GED.
