Job Summary
At Ohio National Financial Services, we are seeking an experienced AVP, AXIS Modeler to join our team. As a key member of our actuarial team, you will be responsible for directing a small team and leading the development and enhancement of actuarial models using AXIS software to support annuity valuation under the LDTI framework.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation of annuity Long-Duration Targeted Improvements (LDTI)
- Develop and enhance actuarial models using AXIS software to support annuity valuation under the LDTI framework
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement model changes
- Perform model testing, valuation, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards
- Analyze and interpret model results, identifying areas for improvement, and implement enhancements as needed
- Stay informed about industry developments and regulatory changes related to LDTI and incorporate updates into existing models
- Provide support during audits and regulatory examinations, addressing inquiries, and providing documentation as necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field
- FSA or career ASA designation
- At least eight years in actuarial roles, including a minimum of two years of modeling with specific experience in variable annuity products
- Strong proficiency with AXIS modeling software with at least two years of experience
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience building and fostering relationships
- Highly organized and able to lead successful projects without supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to quantify impacts and synthesize data from multiple sources and identify trends
Preferred
- Experience with US statutory and GAAP reporting
- Knowledge of LDTI and its implications for annuity valuation
- Demonstrated self-starter and effective individual contributor for non-routine projects
- Ability to interact with and provide subject matter expertise to multiple functional areas
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
