We are in search of a Mineral Sample Technician to support daily operations involving sample collection, preparation, and analysis within the mine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all samples adhere to specified standards, facilitating the delivery of high-quality analytical results that are crucial for optimizing daily operations.
- Contribute to a culture of Zero Harm, prioritizing safety and incident-free practices.
- Collect, log, and process in-pit samples efficiently.
- Analyze and validate sample results, ensuring quality control.
As part of your duties, you will operate mobile equipment to access various locations and transport samples to the central laboratory.
Technical Skills:
- Conduct sample preparation and analyses using both manual and semi-automated equipment, employing techniques such as NIR for sample evaluation.
- Engage in method development, validation, and certification processes, adapting existing methods to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- A strong commitment to safety for yourself and your colleagues.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent laboratory experience.
- A valid driver's license for sample transportation.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new techniques and seek guidance from experienced team members.
- Familiarity with Lean 5S principles.
Proficiency in computer operations, including Word and Excel, is essential, along with the ability to learn specific laboratory protocols.
