Job Summary

The Senior Engineer is responsible for overseeing the review, management, and coordination of professional engineering work related to land development and various public works projects. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating project development and progress with clients, and providing technical support for internal and external stakeholders.

This position requires a strong background in land development and public improvement design, with a proven track record of successfully completing public works projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as knowledge of electronic databases such as BlueBeam and Microsoft Teams.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our team at CSG Consultants. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to our clients, as well as contributing to the development of innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Review plans, specifications, and estimates for the construction of land development and public works projects.
  • Design and review of street, storm drain, and sewer plans.
  • Review of Water Quality Management Plans for Water Regional Board Districts in California.
  • Design preparation and review of hydrology and hydraulic reports and calculations.
  • Review and provide recommendations for site improvement plans for conformance with governing codes and design principles.
  • Provide professional and engineering support to design and construction management teams.
  • Serve as senior engineer at a municipality.
  • Direct engineering staff to perform complex engineering review for public works projects and programs, ensuring technical competence and compliance with governing regulations.
  • Manage project review budgets from inception to completion.
  • Coordinate project design approval efforts with all stakeholders, including jurisdiction staff, developers, and design consultants.
  • Work closely with clients and group leads.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of land development and public improvement design and plan review experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Current PE California License is required. Specialty certifications are highly desired.
  • Proven track record for successfully completing public works projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of electronic databases such as BlueBeam and Microsoft Teams.
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid Class "C" California driver's license is required.

The compensation for this position is $120,000 to $165,000 a year.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
