Machine Learning Intern

As a Machine Learning Intern at Searce Inc, you will play a key role in developing and enhancing the algorithms and technology that powers our unique system. This role encompasses a wide range of challenges, from developing new models using pre-existing components to enable current systems to be more intelligent.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop models that align with business objectives and track their progress using relevant metrics
  • Manage available resources, including hardware, data, and personnel, to ensure timely project completion
  • Analyze ML algorithms to determine their suitability for solving specific problems and rank them based on their potential success
  • Explore and visualize data to gain insights, identify differences in data distribution, and develop strategies to overcome performance issues when deploying models in real-world scenarios
  • Verify data quality and ensure it is accurate through data cleaning
  • Supervise data acquisition processes to obtain additional data when needed
  • Find and utilize available datasets online for training purposes
  • Define validation strategies and data augmentation pipelines
  • Train models, tune hyperparameters, and analyze errors to develop strategies for overcoming them
  • Deploy models to production and maintain knowledge of the GCP Ecosystem
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Sciences, Statistics, or Mathematics, with a focus on applied and foundational Machine Learning, AI, NLP, and data-driven statistical analysis and modeling
  • 0-1 years of experience in applying AI/ML/NLP/deep learning/data-driven statistical analysis and modeling solutions to multiple domains, including financial engineering and financial processes
  • Strong programming skills in machine learning and deep learning, and Big Data frameworks, including TensorFlow, Caffe, Spark, and Hadoop
  • Experience with writing complex programs and implementing custom algorithms in various environments using languages like Python and PySpark
  • Ability to go beyond using open-source tools as-is and write custom code on top of or in addition to existing open-source frameworks
  • Proven capability in demonstrating successful advanced technology solutions using ML/AI/NLP/data science in one or more domains
  • Experience in data management, data analytics middleware, platforms, and infrastructure, cloud and fog computing is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex algorithms and solutions to stakeholders across multiple disciplines and ability to work in a diverse team
