U-Haul Moving Center General Manager Position

U-Haul is seeking a highly motivated and organized General Manager to lead one of our moving and storage centers. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the center, ensuring profitability and efficiency, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the fleet of equipment to ensure clean and well-maintained vehicles are available for customers.
Perform profit/loss analyses to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to increase revenue and reduce costs.
Hire and mentor new team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
Track and itemize inventory to ensure accurate stock levels and prevent losses.
Manage the personnel budget to ensure that expenses are aligned with business goals and objectives.
Ensure that customers receive the highest quality of care and service, resolving any issues that may arise in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain a clean and secure environment, ensuring that the premises are well-maintained and free from hazards.
Requirements:
1-3 years of management experience in retail or another service industry with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction.
Computer expertise, including proficiency in software applications and systems.
Organizational expertise, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Management proficiency in high-volume retail with profit and loss (P&L) accountability.
Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment:
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.
Physical Demands:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
