Job Summary

The Department of Fire Services is seeking a highly skilled District Engineering Inspector to join our team in Stow, Massachusetts. As a key member of our Boiler and Pressure Vessel unit, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, investigations, and testing of boilers and pressure vessels to ensure compliance with state laws, national codes, and manufacturer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of boilers and pressure vessels to determine compliance with regulations and codes.
  • Investigate and analyze data to identify potential safety hazards and make recommendations for corrective action.
  • Collaborate with engineers, manufacturers, and contractors to resolve nonconformance issues and ensure equipment safety.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of inspections and investigations.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations, codes, and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Current and valid First Class Stationary Engineers License issued by the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services.
  • Based on assignment, one of the following: National Association of Amusement Rides Safety Officials (NAARSO) certification or National Board Commission.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
