Job Summary:

UCHealth is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Behavioral Unit, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients with behavioral health needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the care team to provide a supportive and therapeutic environment for patients.
  • Monitor and document patient coping mechanisms, providing crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of the plan of care and assist in carrying out the plan for assigned clients.
  • Report any changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to the care team.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, utilizing critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; UCHealth-administered basic competency test may be substituted.
  • 1 year of related Behavioral Health experience necessary.
  • BLS certification within 3 months of hire through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
