SUMMARY

The Regional Finance Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial accounting processes for the North American divisions of the organization. This includes the management of financial assets, liabilities, revenues, expenditures, and capital accounts, along with the preparation of comprehensive financial statements such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising the tasks of team members while ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.

Supervisory Duties

Oversees all personnel involved in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

Specific Duties

  1. Directs the implementation and maintenance of an accounting system that accurately records all financial transactions related to assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses.
  2. Regularly reviews Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable ledgers to ensure accurate reporting and proactively addresses potential risks to cash flow and vendor/customer relationships.
  3. Contributes to the Month-End and Year-End Closing Process in alignment with the organization's accounting and financial controlling guidelines.
  4. Responsible for reconciling intercompany accounts.
  5. Collaborates closely with all accounting and controlling functions to guarantee precise financial reporting.
  6. Acts as a liaison to external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filing of federal and state tax returns.
  7. Serves as a point of contact for all government agencies regarding tax matters, ensuring compliance with all necessary filings.
  8. Provides essential support to the Regional Controller in coordinating audit requests related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  9. Manages the accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice coding, price verification, and data entry into financial systems.
  10. Collaborates with department managers and the Regional Controller on administrative matters managed by the finance department.
  11. Supports the Regional Controller in liaising with service providers for administrative functions.
  12. Engages in sensitive and confidential accounting matters.
  13. Participates in company-wide initiatives such as process improvements and system upgrades.
  14. Continuously documents and monitors established processes and controls.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role require the ability to walk, sit, bend, reach, and lift frequently. Proficiency in computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and data entry, is necessary. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for interaction with colleagues, vendors, and clients. The ability to manage multiple tasks and handle stress associated with the responsibilities of this position is crucial.

The individual in this role must be willing to travel as required. A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are prerequisites for employment.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

A B.S./B.A. degree and a minimum of five years of relevant experience are required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential for this position, as it involves preparing reports, correspondence, and schedules.

Mathematical Skills

Strong mathematical and analytical skills are required.

Reasoning Ability

The ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a disciplined approach to addressing employer and customer needs is crucial. The role involves analytical assignments and requires problem-solving capabilities for both practical and complex issues.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

A valid driver's license is required.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

This position requires extensive use of computers and proficiency in Microsoft Office products, along with other standard office equipment. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
