Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Security Officer to join our team at Ascension Health. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our staff, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of security officers to ensure a safe and secure environment
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Contribute to efficient operations by coordinating activities, prioritizing workflow, and promoting decision-making and problem-solving
  • Perform the duties of a security officer, including responding to incidents and hazards
  • Model and promote teamwork and cooperation among staff
  • Review staff reports for accuracy, clarity, and completeness
  • Investigate and document security incidents and hazards
  • Address escalated or unresolved issues
  • Assist the Security Manager with shift staffing, organizational planning, budget preparation, staff development, and committee chair responsibilities
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Driver's License, BLS Provider, Security Professional, Security Guard specializing in Weapon Permit, Security Guard
  • Education: High School diploma equivalency and 3 years of cumulative experience, Associate's degree/Technical degree and 1 year of experience, 5 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience
