The National Security Agency's (NSA) High School Work Study (HSWS) Program is a highly competitive internship program designed for high school students who plan to participate in a paid part-time internship during their senior year.

Program Overview

Students have the opportunity to gain work experience in various fields, including business, computers, engineering, manufacturing, graphic arts, construction, and Chinese language.

Job Opportunities
  • Office Assistant: Assist with administrative tasks, such as typing, filing, and answering phones.
  • Computer Aide: Operate data processing equipment and assist with technical tasks.
  • Vo-Tech: Use software to create agency materials, such as brochures and pamphlets.
  • Facilities and Logistics: Assist with building maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Model Shop: Assist with machining, sheet metal fabrication, and other technical tasks.
  • Chinese: Use Chinese language skills to perform daily duties.
  • Intelligence Analysis Aide: Assist with writing and critical thinking tasks to transform foreign intelligence and cybersecurity information into critical reports.
Eligibility

To be eligible for the HSWS Program, students must:

  • Be a high school junior
  • Be enrolled in Business, Computers, Engineering, Manufacturing, Graphic Arts, Construction, or Chinese courses
  • Plan to participate in a school-sponsored Work Experience Program during their senior year
