About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Engineer with expertise in the automotive or aerospace manufacturing sectors. This position is vital for upholding and enhancing quality and compliance standards across a diverse array of fastening solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and select suppliers based on their capabilities and quality systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards through regular audits.
- Establish, implement, and uphold quality assurance processes and procedures for suppliers.
- Create incoming inspection work instructions and necessary documentation.
- Apply risk analysis methodologies to determine inspection requirements and align techniques with supplier capabilities.
- Ensure that purchase orders reflect all drawing, contract, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in managing product returns effectively.
- Monitor supplier performance, track quality metrics, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with suppliers to enhance product quality, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace industry quality standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.
- Investigate quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Support suppliers in improving their manufacturing processes and product reliability.
- Maintain comprehensive records of supplier assessments, quality audits, and corrective actions.
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
- 5-10 years of experience in quality engineering or related roles within the relevant industry.
- Prior experience in supplier quality engineering is essential, including auditing and managing supplier relationships.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 and NADCAP.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
- Familiarity with aerospace industry regulations and certification requirements.
- Understanding of core quality tools such as Quality Management Systems, Supplier Audits, APQP, SPC, PPAP, FMEA, and MSA.
Certifications:
ASQ Certified Quality Auditor and AS9100 Lead Auditor certifications are preferred.
