We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at Central Counties Center for Mental. As a senior-level vocational nurse, you will provide advanced care and support to our clients, working under limited supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support to prescribing staff and attend to all nursing services associated with telemedicine services.
- Responsible for patient record reviews, including medication consents and forms specified by Texas Administrative Codes.
- Accurately and timely document all services rendered.
- Administer medication orally and by injection, according to prescribing staff orders.
- Communicate effectively with consumers, prescribers, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Perform mental and physical nursing assessments, reporting findings to prescribers.
- Implement nursing interventions and consult with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care.
- Collect specimens, review and document results, and report findings to prescribers.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including height, weight, body mass index, pulse, blood pressure, and temperature.
- Licensed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse by the State of Texas or in a party state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- One year or more experience in nursing work and nursing experience working with mental health clients preferred.
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions, deal with abstract and concrete variables, and calculate figures and amounts.
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods, lift and move up to 35lbs, and see, hear, and talk effectively.
