Job Summary

The Transportation Officer is a critical role within TransCor America, responsible for ensuring the safe and secure transportation of inmates, detainees, and residents. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a high-stress environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and briefings to ensure the safe and secure transportation of inmates, detainees, and residents.
  • Monitor and supervise inmate, detainee, and resident activity to prevent escapes and ensure the security of the transportation vehicle.
  • Communicate effectively with Trip Management and Field Office Supervisors to assess situations and make decisions.
  • Complete preventive maintenance of equipment and ensure the readiness of restraints, weapons, OIC kits, and vehicles.
  • Ensure effective management and control of resources, including inmate/detainee and/or resident medications and property.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 or older.
  • Valid Class A or B driver's license with airbrake and passenger endorsements, or CDL Class A or B with willingness to obtain airbrake and passenger endorsements.
  • Willingness to obtain a CDL permit before attending new hire training.
