Shift: Full-time (30+ hours)
Compensation: $17.01 Hourly Rate
The compensation listed represents the hourly range or rate for this position. The specific offer will vary based on the applicant's experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

- Exhibit proper operation, storage, and cleaning of equipment.
- Ensure accurate portioning in recipes and food serving to minimize waste and guarantee high-quality products.
- Demonstrate correct food preparation and assembly in accordance with standardized recipes and preparation methods.
- Prepare, serve, and deliver meals to patients of all ages.
- Provide appropriate catering services for meals, meetings, or special events.
- Notify supervisors of any issues or needs regarding equipment and food supplies. Identify and report spoiled or unappealing food, defective supplies/equipment, or other unusual conditions. Adhere to departmental policies regarding leftovers.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers regarding food orders during cafeteria meal times and break reliefs.
- Order daily food and supplies as necessary.
- Plan and coordinate work schedules to ensure food readiness at required times.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy when handling cash and transactions at the cash register.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies.
- Ensure a clean and sanitary environment in the kitchen.
- Operate mechanical floor cleaning equipment.
- Perform sweeping and wet mopping in the kitchen area.
- Return kitchen equipment to its original location after use.
- Clean walls, ceiling tiles, and vents as necessary.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and professional conferences.
- Participate in meetings and in-services as required or assigned.
- Carry out other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Adhere to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement programs, safety standards, information management, and infection control protocols.
- Utilize excellent customer service skills consistently.
- Comply with federal and state laws and regulations from accrediting and licensing agencies at all times, including but not limited to Joint Commission and federal compliance regulations.
- Be willing to be cross-trained in areas of equal classification within the department as needed.
- Follow HACCP standards for food handling, preparation, and safety.
- Adhere to the established uniform policy of the hospital and/or department.
- Complete food temperature, safety, refrigerator/freezer, and other logs as per departmental standards.
- Be willing to assist in training new staff members as assigned.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must meet all requirements for approval to work in specific ATS environments (if applicable), including a ten-year work history if available
• No prior experience required; on-the-job training will be provided
• No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required
Additional Responsibilities - Non-Essential Functions:
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Participate in scheduled departmental meetings.
- Complete annual age-specific competencies.
- Fulfill mandatory hospital education requirements.
