Orthopedic Physician Assistant Opportunity

Atrium Health is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team in the Orthopedic Urgent Care setting. This role offers an excellent opportunity to practice autonomously while making a significant impact on a new service line.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide acute orthopedic care to patients ages 14 and older.
  • Staff a minimum of 20 hours per week at Orthopedic Urgent Care.
  • Utilize remaining 20 hours per week flexibly within our float pool, including OR First Assist and daytime clinic duties.
  • Perform joint and fracture reductions, splinting, bracing, casting, orthopedic injections/aspirations, and local wound care.
  • Independently interpret x-rays and advanced diagnostic imaging.
Requirements:
  • Licensed as a Physician Assistant in North Carolina.
  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program; Masters Degree required.
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.
  • DEA license required or eligibility.
  • Prescriptive authority through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in NC, or eligibility.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required, with expiration date greater than 90 days from practice start date.
  • Minimum one year of orthopedic experience required.
