Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Garbage Truck Operator to join our team at Waste Connections. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for safely operating a garbage truck on designated routes in Norfolk, VA.

Compensation and Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a garbage truck safely and efficiently on specified routes, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Read route sheets and service each customer, ensuring timely and courteous delivery of waste management services.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance to ensure the trucks are in good working condition.
  • Load and unload trash with or without helpers, using proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
  • Interact with customers, providing exceptional service and addressing any concerns they may have.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A valid Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement, obtained through a reputable driving school.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in a related field, preferably in waste management or transportation.
  • The ability to lift 50+ pounds, with or without assistance, and stand for long periods while operating the truck.
