Job Summary
The Bureau of Naval Personnel is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Motor Vehicle Operator to join our team. As a Motor Vehicle Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating motor coach buses to transport passengers and cargo. This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate motor coach buses to transport passengers and cargo
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on vehicles, including checking fluid levels, replacing air filters, and washing the vehicle
- Use predetermined routes and follow traffic regulations and safety precautions
- Interpret instructions and specifications related to bus operations, preventive maintenance, and passenger safety
- Use a smartphone to perform daily duties, including email, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
- Must have a valid US driver's license
- Must have a CDL Class A or B with a passenger (P) and air brakes endorsement
- Must be 21 years or older
Working Conditions
- Work will require sitting for long periods of time, but may also require walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting
- May be exposed to uncomfortable heat conditions, strains, cuts, scrapes, bruises, or burns
- May be required to work alone and wear personal protective equipment
Qualifications
- Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position
- Qualification requirements emphasize the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time
Additional Information
- This is a bargaining unit position
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
- This position may require the use of a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases
- This is a Mission Essential position
