Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Roadway Design Engineer to join our team at Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson Inc. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for designing and developing roadway projects using your knowledge of general engineering principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform alternative studies to identify optimal design solutions
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, and other topographical data to plan projects
  • Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
  • Develop construction cost estimates and assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction
  • Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and discipline-specific design software, such as Bentley Open Roads Designer
  • Engineer-in-training certification and related experience preferred
Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time, with occasional field work required. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions within the office environment.
