Job Title: Level II Technician, Cable Splicing

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Level II Technician, Cable Splicing to join our team at ADB Companies, LLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with various underground, aerial, and ISP fiber splicing projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepares fiber optic cables for splicing projects, including armored, dielectric, MIC, wet, and dry cables.
  • Determines cable direction and safe practices within all splicing functions.
  • Installs various fiber optic cables into splicing cases and performs ring-tap cable installation.
  • Performs fiber splicing cuts and testing within a live fiber optic tray.
  • Routes aerial, underground, and ISP cables, including hanging aerial and installation in racks, shelves, and storage locations.
  • Processes cable relocations and hot cuts with hand hole organization.
  • Determines equipment within a customer facility and interfaces with Network Control Centers (NOC).
  • Operates hand tools, including diagonal cutters, razor blades, ribbon splitters, and other equipment.
  • Reads and interprets construction prints and drawings.
  • Performs maintenance on splicing equipment and ensures safety requirements are always followed.
  • Safely operates company vehicles and construction equipment as needed.
Requirements:
  • 1-3+ years of experience performing or assisting with fiber optic splicing projects.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong belief in ZERO - being safe 100% of the time.

Work Environment:
  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, squatting, standing, walking, climbing, etc.
  • May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels while onsite.
  • Required to wear common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed boots.
