The Role

We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer - Android to join our team. As a Senior DevOps Engineer - Android, you will be responsible for designing stable and polished solutions for CI/CD pipelines with multiple stages and gates to handle quality checks, bundling of assets, and creation of container images.

You will also be responsible for designing optimal cloud infrastructure for given requirements using architectural tradeoff analysis methods. Additionally, you will be responsible for mapping out the current and future state of the deployment strategy.

You will learn and grow your existing skill set to help solidify your knowledge as well as to advance the industry's practices. You will also mentor junior engineers to develop solutions that fit industry best practices.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • 5+ years of professional DevOps experience
  • 2+ years of experience of Android CI/CD including app building, signing, and store deployment, using tools, such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab Pipelines, etc.
  • Experience with containers, container orchestration, and deployment tools, such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm
  • Familiarity with Android Studio SDKS, including command line build tools
  • Familiarity with the Google mobile ecosystems, including the Google Play Console
  • Design optimal cloud infrastructure for given requirements using architectural tradeoff analysis methods
  • Expertise in using a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Expertise in using containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Expertise in using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi)
  • Comfort with Linux CLI (being able to navigate through the filesystem, check processes, understand what's happening on the OS)
  • Knowledge in a programming/scripting language (Bash, Powershell, and/or Typescript, Python)
  • Knowledge of instrumenting applications to expose internal state for capturing metrics to be monitored
  • Knowledge of observability tooling to assist in debugging of applications (Prometheus/Grafana/EFK)
