Position Summary: The role involves engineering design, leveraging expertise in general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate tasks with minimal oversight. This position also serves as a technical mentor to junior engineers. U.S. Residency is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and oversee detailed phases of engineering work for major projects or moderate scope projects.
- Prepare construction cost estimates.
- Assist in the creation of engineering documents for bidding and construction purposes.
- Manage project sub-consultants and collaborate with in-house support teams.
- Develop requests for extra work orders and proposals for open-end contracts.
- Draft proposals as necessary.
- Participate in client meetings.
- Coordinate with internal team members to ensure timely project completion while maintaining quality standards.
- Demonstrate project management capabilities, including experience in design and construction projects, schedule preparation, contractor payment application reviews, leading client and stakeholder meetings, and effective coordination with project members (both internal and external).
- Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
- EIT Certification.
- 5-10 years of experience in a specialized field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with local clients at the county and state levels.
The majority of work is expected to be performed in a general office setting, with 50% to 95% of the time spent in a sedentary capacity. While the office environment is typically comfortable, fieldwork may occasionally be required, which could involve exposure to varying weather conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be necessary as needed.
