We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Specialist to join our team at Brigham & Women's Hospital (BWH). As a Histology Specialist, you will play a critical role in preparing and processing tissue samples for microscopic analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Embed, section, and stain routine tissue with high accuracy and quality.
- Prepare and maintain working solutions for routine H&E staining and special stains.
- Operate microtomes and other laboratory equipment with precision and attention to detail.
- Record data with high accuracy and maintain laboratory logbooks and computer systems.
- Collaborate with senior staff to troubleshoot issues and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new laboratory staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; A.S., B.S., or B.A. in a biological or chemical science preferred.
- 1 year of experience as a histology technician or related field.
- HT (ASCP) certification eligible.
This position is located in a normal laboratory environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials and equipment. Minimal risk when proper protocols are observed and followed.
