Job Summary

The City of Mount Dora is seeking a highly skilled Lifeguard to join our Leisure Services Department. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our patrons and providing emergency response services when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the organization and direction of various water activities
  • Perform rescues of bathers in trouble and provide CPR and emergency first aid if required
  • Develop and maintain a positive interest in activities and provide excellent customer service
  • Participate in training and certification programs to maintain current skills and knowledge
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or currently enrolled in high school or college
  • At least 16 years of age
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Lifesaving Certification, First Aid, CPR, and AED training required
  • Previous experience in a lifeguarding or emergency response role
