Ultrasound Radiographer

The Ultrasound Radiographer plays a critical role in this mission by performing high-quality ultrasound examinations and providing excellent patient care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operating ultrasound units and ensuring proper maintenance and calibration
  • Preparing ultrasound rooms and maintaining a clean and organized environment
  • Interviewing and screening patients prior to examinations and explaining procedures
  • Performing and coordinating patient testing services, including ultrasound examinations
  • Ensuring all equipment, supplies, and records are available for patient care
  • Educating and supporting patients and their families through telephone consultation, office visits, and hospital visits
  • Assisting in research projects as requested by the Division
  • Communicating equipment problems and image quality issues
  • Packaging and sending genetic specimens

Requirements include:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • CPR certification within 90 days of hire
  • ARDMS or RDMS certification
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or board eligible
