About the Role

In this position, you will work closely with our Product Development Engineering team to develop and manufacture innovative laser technology products. Your responsibilities will include creating seamless transitions of new products into volume production, participating in early design concepts focusing on design for excellence, creating bills of materials, and identifying, trouble-shooting, and effectively translating issues into a robust manufacturing process. You will also be responsible for identifying critical process parameters to track, creating a robust dataset for yield and process improvements, setting up and running a pilot/qualification production line, and planning, preparing, and executing transfer to manufacturing including contract manufacturing.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a BS degree in Optics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, and 5+ years of work experience in a similar field. You should have experience in the use of laser test equipment, both optical and electrical, and experience in product transition into a volume manufacturing environment including contract manufacturing. Strong commitment to process control and quality is essential, as well as experience in leading Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis and DFx type activities. Working knowledge of manufacturing procedure and process flow, experience and knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing are also required. While SAP, Agile, other ERP and product lifecycle management systems are nice to have, they are not essential for this role.
