Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Training: Prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate learning, and provide instruction and supervision for students in hospitality operations.
  • Curriculum Development: Possess a thorough understanding of hospitality concepts and core competencies, and develop curriculum that aligns with industry standards.
  • Student Supervision: Educate students on relevant safety requirements, laws, and regulations pertaining to hospitality, and facilitate in-classroom learning and hands-on training.
  • Inventory Management: Control and monitor all inventory/equipment used as part of teaching class, and work with Supervisor to ensure all supplies are ordered for the class.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete VGCC paperwork with limited assistance, submit items in a timely manner for entering data into system, and maintain suitable class records, registration forms, attendance forms, evaluation forms, etc.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
  • Experience: One-year experience in the field of Hospitality (Hotel and Lodging).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Corrections: Experience working in a correctional setting is preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Light Work: Light work that includes moving up to 20 pounds.
  • Sedentary Work: Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
