UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Support Technician to join their Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) team. This is a 36-hour per week position, working 12-hour rotating shifts, with weekend and holiday rotation.
This role requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, providing clinical support assistance to patients and staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures.
- Provide clinical support assistance, including cleaning the work area, maintaining office equipment, and troubleshooting common software and hardware problems.
- Measure and record vital signs, and patient height and weight.
- Collect specimens, perform skin preps/scrubs, and capillary blood glucose checks.
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with ambulation.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
- Listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Prefer six (6) months of clerical or customer service experience.
